The Amazing Ignorance of Jessie Daniels

Whilst innocently perusing the news, I found an article

wherein Jessie Daniels, a sociology professor at City University of New York (CUNY) pointed out – suggested – declared – the “white, nuclear family” promotes white supremacy.

I read the rest of the article, presuming to find some innocent or reasonable logic behind what seems to be an outrageous claim.  Seeing I found this article on Fox News, I checked some of the other news sources.

CNN had no articles, pro or con, regarding Professor Daniels.

NPR had nothing.

USA Today had nothing.

Wall Street Journal – nothing.

BBC – nothing.

I did find a website, seemingly her own – which listed Jessie Daniels as “Jessie Daniels, PhD – Writer, professor, speaker, digital sociologist at Hunter College and The Graduate Center, CUNY. Expert on race, racism and technology. Documentary-curator, aspiring NYT best-selling memoirist.  Co-founder, editor, blogger, Racism Review.”

I also found the CUNY page reported in the Fox News article.  It roughly reports the above identification and credentials.

So one presumes Fox News is reporting on the same person.

Without citing all the quotes in the article, Dr. Daniels – I presume – makes the statement, “the white-nuclear family is one of the most powerful forces supporting white supremacy,” adding that that families “reproducing white children” are “part of the problem”.  She went on to say “White people: do you own your home? When you die, where’s wealth in that house going? If it’s to your children, you’re reproducing (inequality).”

I do not trust myself to follow the logic she presents; yet it is blatant:  By maintaining a cohesive family, owning a home and giving their children the benefit of a proper upbringing and an inheritance, “white people” are supporting white supremacy and racial inequality.  I must point out the actions to which Dr. Daniels reportedly objects are all traditional Christian – and other religions – values.  Which seems to suggest she objects to all included.

If that is so, she seems to suggest in order to dismantle white supremacy and foster ‘equality’ between the races (do races exist?  I read races don’t exist somewhere) the white families must stop being ‘nuclear families’, quit owning homes – or presumably anything of value – and stop leaving their wealth to their children.

That seems a bit draconian.

Not mentioned is anything to the effect of non-white people SHOULD encourage nuclear families, the owning of property and the tradition of encouraging and supporting the progeny of the family in an effort to counteract the ‘white supremacy’ movement.  How odd.

Several bits bother me a great deal about this, should the report be true.

  1. The assumption of ‘white supremacy’ as a result of intentionally maintaining a family, family ties and working.
  2. The assumption non-white people cannot do the same.
  3. Such a person as Dr. Daniels would be considered – by anyone other than herself – any sort of authority on anything to do with racial relations or differences.
  4. Any University, College or other organization of learning (down to and including pre-school) would  actually pay her money and keep her on staff as such.

Those with differing views, please present information to dispel my misconceptions.

Take a knee! And go to Arlington and kiss the ground of real HEROES!

Forwarded to me by a valued friend who was ‘there’.  It was forwarded to him by an anonymous (to me) friend of his who was also ‘there’.

Take a little trip to Valley Forge in January If you don’t know where that is, just Google it from the sidelines.

Hold a musket ball in your fingers and imagine it piercing your flesh and breaking a bone or two. There won’t be a doctor or trainer to assist you until after the battle, so just wait your turn. Take your cleats and socks off to get a real experience. Then take a knee.

Then, take one at the beach in Normandy where man after American man stormed the beach, even as the one in front of him was shot to pieces…the very sea stained with American blood. The only blockers most had were the dead bodies in front of them, riddled with bullets from enemy fire.

Take a knee in the sweat soaked jungles of Vietnam. from Khe San to Saigon… Anywhere will do. REAL Americans died in all those jungles. There was no playbook that told them what was next, but they knew what flag they represented. When they came home, they were protested as well..and spit on for reasons only cowards know.

Take another knee in the blood drenched sands of Fallujah in 110 degree heat.. Wear your Kevlar helmet and battle dress.. Your number won’t be printed on it unless your number is up! You’ll need to stay hydrated but there won’t be anyone to squirt Gatorade into your mouth. You’re on your own. Or at Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima, Bougainville, or Tarawa!

There’s a lot of places to take a knee. Real Americans have given their lives all over the world. When you use the banner under which they fought as a source for your displeasure, you dishonor the memories of those who bled for the very freedoms you have. That’s what the red stripes mean. It represents the blood of those who spilled a sea of it defending your liberty.

While you’re on your knee, pray for those that came before you, not on a manicured lawn striped and printed with numbers to announce every inch of ground taken….but on nameless hills and bloodied beaches and sweltering forests and bitter cold mountains…every inch marked by an American life lost serving that flag you protest..

No cheerleaders, no announcers, no coaches, no fans…just American men and women…delivering the real fight against those who chose to harm us…blazing a path so you would have the right to “take a knee.”

You haven’t an inkling of what it took to get you where you are; but your “protest” is duly noted. Not only is it disgraceful to a nation of real heroes, it serves the purpose of pointing to your ingratitude for those who chose to defend you under that banner that will still wave long after your jersey is issued to another…

If you really feel the need to take a knee, come with me to church on Sunday and we’ll both kneel before Almighty God. We’ll thank Him for preserving this country for as long as He has. We’ll beg forgiveness for our ingratitude for all He has provided us. We’ll appeal to Him for understanding and wisdom We’ll pray for liberty and justice for all….because He is the one who provides those things.

And there will be no protest. There will only be gratitude for His provision and a plea for His continued grace and mercy on the land of the free and the home of the brave It goes like this…

GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Went to a Gun Show last weekend

That ‘last weekend’ being 07-08 October, A. D. 2017.

No one was injured due to gunfire, with intent or without.  (We do a pretty good job of keeping saboteurs out.)  There was a dispute between a vendor and a customer; it was resolved without bloodshed or even fisticuffs.  Not every was happy about it, but life is like that.

I did not find any illegal (fully automatic, short barreled arms, suppressed arms or suppressors, all without proper documents or licenses) weapons for sale.

I didn’t see any ‘bump fire’ type stocks for sale.  I wasn’t looking, actually.  They don’t work worth a hoot on bolt action rifles.

I heard no discussions planning illegal activities.

There were no demonstrations for the anti-freedom faction.  Probably not enough press coverage.  (I didn’t ‘miss’ it.)

Didn’t find any super-bargains on anything.  One of my friends did find and purchase a Mannlicher-Schonauer (bolt action) rifle in 8x60mm.  He let me hold it.  It was sensuous in the same manner as shifting gears on a well made sports car or sleeping on silken sheets.  It was less than $600.00 Yankee dollars, rather a bargain.  (Presuming one appreciates that sort of thing.)  Then he and I discussed making reloadable cases for it.

Saw a bunch of old friends.  One of whom was not only still moving, he is getting better.  He had been ill with ‘something’ for far too long and the doctors finally figured out the problem.  It can be fixed with minor therapy and diet.  Nothing requiring him to be disassembled and reassembled.  (Thank you, Lord!)

I had dinner and pleasant fellowship and conversation – not all about guns and very little about politics – with some friends.

I found another history book on the First World War for $25.00.

Downside:  I worked ‘security’ on the midnight to morning watch.  Not a lot of sleep and I was really dragging when the show was over.  I’m nearly back to normal today (end of Monday following).

I LEARNED SOMETHING from each of several people.

From my point of view, I had a great time.

Redundancy

Meaning “the state of being not or no longer needed or useful”, closely related to “redundant” meaning “(of a component) not strictly necessary to functioning but included in case of failure in another component”, with synonyms of “unnecessary · not required · inessential  · unessential  · needless · unneeded · uncalled for · surplus · superfluous”

Senator John McCain today announced he disapproves of President Trump’s decision to free the U. S. Armed Forces of the fiscal, administrative and tactical burden of ‘transgender’ people in the Armed Forces.  Sen. McCain’s position puts him squarely in  favor of the former President’s theory the U. S. Armed Forces is not intended to defend the U. S. militarily, but rather a social experimentation laboratory.

Sen McCain also disagrees with the pardon of Sheriff Joe Arpaio regarding the Sheriff’s conviction of purely political ‘violations’.

My comments to the Senator from Arizona:  Relax, John; we all know you are a RINO and hate all contributing to the well being of the United States.  You can quit proving it.

Perhaps he should show some honesty and publicly change his political party affiliation.

Another Democrat Continuum State Decides to Hide Voter Fraud From Public View

The President asked all fifty states for information on voter registration, investigating voter fraud or the potential for voter fraud in national elections.

A number of states have publicly refused to cooperate.  Oddly, perhaps rather meaningfully, several states controlled by the Democrat Continuum have refused to provide any information.  Coincidently, these are states with high volumes of non-U. S. Citizen residents, and some with high volumes of illegal – not legally within the borders of the United States – aliens living and working in the United States in violation of law.  People not authorized to vote in elections, among other things.

One wonders why such an action?  If everything in those states is above board and lawful, the information requested will show the legality.

A second thought is the request and investigation is initiated by a Republican and Conservative President as the aftermath of accusations and counter accusations of improper voting procedures and voter registration.  Democrat Continuum state leaders seem to resist any meaningful resolution of the matter.

The logical conclusion is pretty obvious.  Either those refusers seek to hide the truth of improper voter registration and voting, or they are so obsessed with obstructing President Trump they cannot do anything honest.

Amazing.  Well, perhaps not so amazing after all.

On the 241st Anniversary of Our Republic – May You Be Blessed

This is an email I received. The attachments (illustrations) didn’t ‘translate’ but most of my readers do not need pictures. Bless you all.

So it will be out there on the fourth!

I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG, OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, AND TO THE REPUBLIC FOR WHICH IT STANDS,
ONE NATION UNDER GOD, INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL!

For all of our other military personnel, where ever they may be.
Please Support all of the troops defending our Country.

God Bless our Military who are protecting our Country for our Freedom. Thanks to them, and their sacrifices, we can celebrate the 4th of July.

We must never forget who gets the credit for the freedoms we have, of which we should be eternally grateful.

I watched the flag pass by one day.
It fluttered in the breeze.
A young Marine saluted it,
And then he stood at ease.

I looked at him in uniform;
so young, so tall, so proud.
With hair cut square and eyes alert,
he’d stand out in any crowd.

I thought how many men like him
had fallen through the years.
How many died on foreign soil;
how many mothers’ tears?

How many pilots’ planes shot down?
How many died at sea?
How many foxholes were soldiers’ graves?
NO, FREEDOM ISN’T FREE

I heard the sound of Taps one night,
when everything was still.
I listened to the bugler play
And felt a sudden chill.

I wondered just how many times
That Taps had meant ‘Amen.’
When a flag had draped a coffin
of a brother or a friend.

I thought of all the children,
of the mothers and the wives,
of fathers, sons and husbands
With interrupted lives.

I thought about a graveyard
At the bottom of the sea.
Of unmarked graves in Arlington.
NO FREEDOM ISN’T FREE

Enjoy Your Freedom and God Bless Our Troops.

When you read this, please stop for a moment and say a prayer for our servicemen. Of all the gifts you could give a U.S. Soldier, prayer is the very best one.

God Bless all!

So Much for the Referendum

I kept hearing in the news on NPR (I listen to the classical music and hear the official left wing news when I cannot turn down the sound in time) about how the Georgia special election was to be a ‘referendum’ on President Trump being elected.

The ‘referendum’ endorsed the election of President Trump rather than repudiate the election. Which undercuts the Democrat position.

I rather imagine the Democrat Continuum will use the standard ploy in dealing with this development. Ignore it. Pretend it never happened. If prompted, pretend it didn’t mean a thing. Tell everyone how it was a ‘moral’ victory how the Democratic Continuum candidate scored so many votes – without mentioning the incredible amount of money funneled into the election from all the Democrat Continuum donors around the country.

Here’s the moral of the story: President Trump won the last election because the voters of the United States preferred Mr. Trump and what he represents to Secretary Hillary Clinton and what she represents. And the Democrat Continuum is still panicked and upset and still denying why they lost.
